Rebuilding from Ground Zero to Acquisition
Lingo Live, established in 2012, is a language and leadership and development company. Lingo Live partners with Learning and Development teams to help companies achieve their objectives and goals. Lingo Live targets mid-market and enterprise companies to provide language coaching to ESL leaders to improve product development and communication, and offer leadership development programs to first time managers though director level.
When I first started working with Lingo Live I was faced with the challenge of one junior staff member managing all marketing for the past three years. Sales were also founder led but there was a recent hiring of one AE. Customers were also challenged with seeing validation of the offering. Lingo Live had a desire to rebuild the marketing organization after a recent funding round. Lingo Live also wanted to implement a repeatable and dependable growth engine and launch a new SaaS platform.
In order to accomplish this I had to first build and lay down the marketing foundation. I started by partnering with the executive leadership team to understand the company objectives and goals and then built a plan that would help us get there. I hired a team of 5 FTE plus contractors and agencies. I brought SDRs onto the team to assist with sales and I immediately started developing the messaging strategy and rebuilding the marketing automation platform. Using the messaging I created the team developed integrated campaigns across paid and social media and events. I also focussed on sales content and materials to ensure the team was set for success. Lastly, I lead the GTM and launch for the new SaaS platform that managed all programs and provided key data and insights into program success.

Lingo Live had a successful exit and was acquired by Preply in October 2023.
